20th Annual Commitment for a Cure Gala - Sounds of Detroit
|
|
The Commitment for a Cure Gala lives up to its reputation, delivering a high-energy event with show-stopping theatrical themes that combine the elements of a first-class performance experience and the powerful emotions tied to the mission of the American Diabetes Association. The Gala brings together 600 leaders from civic, corporate and medical communities to honor those who have made a difference in the fight against diabetes. In addition, the Red Diner program, initiated at the Commitment for a Cure Gala in 2011, celebrates those Gala guests who have diabetes. To close the evening, the exciting live auction includes one-of-a-kind packages, as well as the opportunity to support camperships and send kids to ADA’s Camp Midicha – the only residential summer camp designed for, and dedicated to, children and teens with diabetes. The ADA is honored to have Ron Hall, President & CEO of Bridgewater Interiors, Jane McNamara, President & CEO of GreenPath, Inc., and Andra Rush, President & CEO of Rush Trucking and Dakkota Integrated Systems as our Event Chairs, with Tom Brisse, President, Troy Beaumont Hospital and Cameron Rifkin, Youth Ambassador and Camp Midicha Camper as the Red Diner Chairs. Emceeing the event this year will be Jim Harper, Detroit Radio Legend. The 2012 Commitment for a Cure Gala will also present the Diabetes Champion Award, which pays tribute local business leaders, medical professionals, families, researchers and corporations who have made a difference in diabetes education, research, care and outreach. This year's Diabetes Champion Recipient is Sean Mahone, Great Lakes Medical Supply, now part of BrightSky. The twentieth anniversary Gala will celebrate the Sounds of Detroit – featuring select Detroit artists from several genres and eras who have helped put the Detroit music industry on the map. On stage for a once-in-a-lifetime show will be:
