This year’s Scientific Sessions introduces new program features and advancements that will make the meeting one of the most interesting and interactive conferences on diabetes to date. Attendees will be able to choose from more than 1,200 cutting-edge presentations which include scientific and educational sessions, oral and poster presentations, and special lectures and addresses.

Reception in Honor and Memory of Richard Rubin, PhD, CDE

Richard Rubin

Colleagues and friends are invited to a reception hosted by the American Diabetes Association’s Behavioral Medicine and Psychology Interest Group in honor and in memory of our beloved colleague and friend. Richard passed away on March 25, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a strong supporter of the American Diabetes Association for half a century and he served significantly in local, state and national offices. Richard was the President, Health Care & Education of the American Diabetes Association, 2006-2007.

We welcome you to join us to honor our colleague and friend in an informal reception to share memories and reminisce about our good times with Richard.

The reception will be held on Friday, June 21 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the McCormick Place Convention Center, West Building, in Chicago. Additional details to follow.

There is no required sign-up for the sessions; however, space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Navigate the virtual Poster Hall from anywhere in the world. The ePosters platform provides a convenient and valuable year-round tool that enables you to view full-scale electronic reproductions of Scientific Sessions posters. Visit the Sanofi Exhibit in Booth 725 of the Exhibit Hall to pick up your USB Webkey for online access.

Computer kiosks will also be located throughout the Poster Hall for electronic poster viewing.

Every poster in the Poster Hall will have a corresponding QR Code on its board. Scanning the code with a smartphone or camera equipped tablet will allow you to access an electronic version of the poster, corresponding abstract, and audio commentary by the presenter (if provided).

Opening Reception—The Field Museum

The Field Museum

Join us Friday evening from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Chicago’s most exciting and unique setting, the Field Museum. Discover artifacts from civilizations past, explore almost every corner of the globe, learn about new scientific discoveries and walk away inspired after experiencing Stanley Field Hall.

5K@ADA

5K tshirts

The 5K@ADA Fun Run/Walk, supported by Novo Nordisk, Inc., will be held on Monday, June 24 at 6:30 a.m. Register online today and then stop by the Fun Run Booth or the Novo Nordisk Booth in Chicago to pick up your Bib and race materials. The race will start and end at historic Soldier Field in the heart of the Chicago Museum Campus.

Purchase a 5K@ADA shirt when you register for the meeting. These are great moisture wicking shirts that are available for the first time in both male and female sizes. Proceeds from the shirts will go to support the American Diabetes Association Research Foundation.
