Alert Day

Take it. Share it. Step Out.

American Diabetes Association Alert Day® is March 24!
Are you at risk for type 2 diabetes? Chances are you or someone you care about may be at risk. American Diabetes Association Alert Day® is a "wake-up call" asking the American public to take the Diabetes Risk Test. This year’s Alert Day campaign will kick-off on March 24 and continue through April 21. The Association will also be encouraging the public to start living a healthy and active lifestyle by asking them to join a Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes® event in their area.

So take the Diabetes Risk Test. Share it with everyone you know.  And when you’re ready to get more active, join the Association and Step Out.

Start a Tradition.

Register for Step Out today and start taking steps to live a healthier life.
Step Out is about making a difference in the lives of millions and having fun doing it. It’s a tradition for good. The events take place in 95 cities nationwide with more than 100,000 walkers. Last year, walkers around the country came together to raise more than $23 million. Step Out walks vary in length and each has its own local flavor, but some common themes can be found across all events, including teams from families and companies both big and small, walkers living with type 1, type 2 or gestational diabetes being celebrated as Red Striders, and our Champions who raise at least $1,000. So wait are you waiting for? Sign up today—and start or continue a tradition of doing good and feeling good.

What Can You Do?

Call to Congress

2015 Call to Congress
From March 11-13, Diabetes Advocates from across the country will visit Washington, D.C. to share their stories and tell Congress to Stop Diabetes. Advocates will have the opportunity to network with other advocates from around the country, have face to face meetings with members of Congress and staff and strategize on bringing diabetes advocacy back to their communities. By sharing their personal diabetes story with Congress and becoming advocacy leaders in their communities, Call to Congress participants are national leaders in diabetes advocacy. You can be an Advocate, too! Sign our petition to tell your senators and U.S. representative why stopping diabetes is important to you.
