Twin Cities Tour de Cure
The
annual bicycling event took place on Saturday, June 4th at Minnehaha
Falls. So far, the event has raised more than $900,000 for diabetes
research, camps for kids with diabetes and other programs of the
American Diabetes Association (ADA).
A total of 164 participants
qualified as a Champion to STOP Diabetes by raising at least $1,000.
They collected a combined $324,072, meaning 11 percent of riders
generated 36 percent of all donations. In addition, presenting sponsor
UnitedHealth Group and other local business contributed $130,000 in cash
sponsorship.
Consider making a donation today to help the Twin Cities Tour de Cure reach it’s $1,000,000 goal to Stop Diabetes.

Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes - Register Today
Please join
the American Diabetes Association on Saturday, September 24th for the
Twin Cities Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes at the General Mills WHQ.
Set your own goals and walk or run either one mile or a 5K through the
campus trails. Kids can participate in a Kid’s Diabetes Dash. Enjoy a
morning of exercise, food and fun for the entire family! Money raised
will support diabetes research, education, and advocacy. Together we can

Together we
can transform the lives of all people with diabetes by working to find a
cure, improving access to health care and protecting the rights of
people with diabetes. You can help at the federal, state, and local

We also have an opportunity to learn how to be an empowered Diabetes Advocate at our upcoming Advocacy Workshop. Join us on Thursday, July 21 at Poor Richards in Bloomington. The workshop will cover:
• Legislation that makes a difference in the lives of people with diabetes • How to get federal and state laws passed • Having successful meetings with elected officials • Resources available to you

Minneapolis Diabetes EXPO

Please
join us for the American Diabetes Association EXPO on Saturday, October
15, 2016 at the Minneapolis Convention Center from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The
EXPO is free to attend and will include more than 70 exhibitors with
the latest products, resources and information on diabetes.
This exciting and free event will include: exhibitors showcasing how-to product demonstrations, free products, food samples, latest products, and services, medical professionals to answer questions in the Ask the Expert area, knowledgeable speakers will presenting information on diabetes topics, free health screenings, and much more.
