Memories of my Father

Why I Ride to Live

My father passed away a couple of years ago. He had diabetes. This cruel disease dismantled this strong, loving, kind man who happened to be my father. One of my father's passions was spending time up in the North Georgia mountains. It reminded him of his home in Tennessee. One of our last moments together was a road trip across the Cherohola Skyway. He commented to me on that trip that he had never been closer to Heaven till that ride. Well he is there now. Riding allows me to enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge area and with events like Ride to Live it allows me to honor my father's memory. I know each day that we will be closer to a time where diabetes is a distant memory. Thank you for your effort in this fight!
