For Life!!

I ride for myself, having lived with type 1 for nearly 12 years, and also for the other 20.8 million...that someday a cure will be found.

I was diagnosed with type 1 in August of 1995. I was an active kid in Scouts and sports before that time, and being diagnosed did NOT stop me. God gave me the gift of life, and I fully intend to take advantage of very minute of it. I continued my active lifestyle by running cross country, swimming, rock climbing, rappelling, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, backpacking (my passion), and now I even compete in triathlons. I want to help spread the word that life WITH diabetes does not have to be any different than life WITHOUT diabetes. So, I ride for God, my life, and the lives of others throughout the world...I hope to show individuals with diabetes that taking control of it, and not letting it control them, is the most important thing they can do with their lives.

I want to thank God for the love of my parents, my beautiful girlfriend Annalissa, and for all my friends that have never stopped believing in me. I love you guys.
