Feeling Overwhelmed Feeling Overwhelmed I have just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, needless to say this has been quite overwhelming for me. I had the classic symptoms of the disease and when i got to the emrgency room my blood glucose level was 757 and my A1C was 17. At this time I didn't know what any of this meant and then it was explained to me. The ER Doctor immediately admitted me into the ICU, I was there for 24 hours until I was moved into a regular room. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days and when I got home I threw away all the food I had in the kitchen and started over. Since I been home I have lost 24 pounds and my blood glucose has been in a range of 79-126. I will live a productive diabetic life. |
