Unexpected Benefits

You never know for who or why you should ride, so just jump in the saddle and go!

I used to be a racer. I was an okay racer with a good number of top 5 finishes. when I got out of the armed services and toured around the country playing music, I quit riding because "I didn't have time". Upon leaving the rock and roll lifestyle I started riding in fundraising and charity rides, partly, well mostly due to selfish goals (I really wanted to get back to my racing physique) but there was something else. I felt more at peace with myself, giving back to the community the talent that I had. I changed careers again, becoming an Accounts Manager for Cox Radio. We help sponsor the Tour De Cure by making the event something special . What really makes this one special is that two of my favorite guys I work with, one from my former job and one from my present job, are afflicted with diabetes. I hope that what I do here can help them and/or their families during this long, hard road to recovery. My ride is for Timothy Swartz and John Lockett; I hope that what I can do here can help effect their lives and the lives of those to come.
