Mikey's Team  Mikey's Team Because of my passion to increase research and find a cure for diabetes... Because of my passion to increase research and find a cure for diabetes, I have been a key volunteer and dedicated supporter of the Tour de Cure in Reston, VA since 2001. My son, Mikey, is an active nine year old boy who has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. In honor of Mikey, my husband and I have organized a team of individuals to ride in the Family Fun Ride of 12 miles. Thanks to our family, friends, and local businesses we have raised thousands of dollars. Our dedication to the Tour de Cure has continued to make the Reston Tour a success and an event which is supported by the corporate and residential communities. |
