For the one we lost and the one that is fighting

For the one we lost and the one that is fighting
For the one we lost and the one that is fighting

We walk for Mom and Dad. Mom has finished her battle, but Dad is continuing to fight.

Our Mother had diabetes for over 12 years, but in April of 2005, it ended in complete rinal failure. She had been on dialysis since 2003 and had been confined to a wheel chair after her legs locked into the sitting position.

Our Father has had diabetes since 1996 and has lost a toe on his right leg and his left leg just below the knee. He is strong and is working on walking on a prostetic leg now. He continues to fight this disease every day, with insuline shots and tons of pills to help control everything. But when we see him, he stills smiles and tells us he misses Mama. He won't give up and neither will we.

We walk together to find the cure, so Dad knows we care and so that others don't have to live or die the way that Mom did.
