I care about people with diabetes.

My grandmother died from type 1 diabetes complications and both my dad and I have type 2 diabetes.

Working at ADA, I see the incredible statistics showing the growth of t2 diabetes worldwide. I also see the anguish that a diagnosis of t1 diabetes brings to both newly diagnosed adults as well as the families of newly diagnosed children and teenagers.

To me, fighting diabetes means raising consciousness and money. I'm lucky, working here at ADA means that I get to raise consciousness every day through my work on the ADA Message Boards and this Web site. I am very active in the Washington, DC Walk annually and am proud to say that our team raised over $22k this year.
