The purpose of the Father of the Year Award Dinner is to raise funds for diabetes research, education, and advocacy, and to recognize outstanding fathers for their contributions to their families, professions and communities. Since 2000 the Fathers' Day Council and the American Diabetes Association have partnered to raise more than $40 million for the American Diabetes Association.
The American Diabetes Association's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The event supports diabetes education, research and advocacy benefiting over 30 million children and adults in the United States who have diabetes.
The Father of the Year Award Dinner, is an incredibly special event. Honorees are recognized as a leader in their community, in their career and most importantly as a father. Family members, friends and business associates share this poignant and moving experience, and all to raise awareness and funds for the American Diabetes Association.
