Presenter Information:
Tracy Milligan
Tracy began her diabetes school advocacy told that her son, Jared, could not go to his neighborhood school unless a parent came every time he needed insulin. Tracy and other Florida parents worked with the Association to successfully pass a state law that protects students with diabetes, including ending the segregation that Jared faced. Now, Jared is entering 6th grade and Tracy is a local Advocacy Chair, and an Advanced School Advocate, who helps other parents learn about their children's rights and ensure they are safe in all school activities and programs.
