Welcome to the official website of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC). We are a federally recognized sovereign Native American tribe located in Scott County, Minnesota. We are dedicated to serving our members, giving to tribes and organizations across the country, creating strong partnerships, and protecting the earth's resources. Drop Off Your Yard Waste for Free!With warmer weather on the horizon, there’s no better time to get your yard ready for spring than by bringing all of your yard waste to the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility, free of charge during the spring yard waste drop-off program. Every Sunday throughout April and May (excluding May 26 for Memorial Day weekend), Scott County residents and SMSC team members (must show ID or badge) can drop off brush, leaves, and other yard clippings at the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility—completely free of charge.
