We Step Out to do our part to Stop Diabetes! Participants are changing the future and making a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes.
Step Out participants are committed to walk and raise money in this inspirational event not because 26 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because they walk among us in our lives and at the event.

You'll be able to customize the page with your reason for walking, send emails to ask others to join you or donate, and even download Facebook and smart phone apps. And of course, your Step Out Specialists (ADA staff) will be here to help all along the way!

This year's Step Out Baltimore is Dedicated in Memory of Dr. Richard Rubin
Our dear friend, Dr. Richard Rubin, passed away on March 25th, 2013. Dr. Rubin dedicated his life to diabetes research and to helping all those with diabetes. Our diabetes community has lost a very special friend. He served as an Association volunteer for over 30 years. He held national leadership positions (President, Health Care & Education in 2006 2007 and served on many important committees) and he was very active here in Baltimore, serving as President in 2008-2009 and on the board until he passed.
Step Out Baltimore was one of Richard's favorite events and it is near and dear to him because it brought the diabetes community together to raise awareness and funds for research, education and advocacy. This year Step Out Baltimore is being dedicated to Dr. Rubin and his family. The family is asking people to make donations to Step Out Baltimore in his honor or join the team and be part of a celebration of his life on the day of the walk. There will be a special area for gathering on the day of the walk that is dedicated to the friends and family of Dr. Rubin so we can celebrate this special man in a way that is meaningful to him and his family
