Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!

Support Me in Tour de Cure! 26 years ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As a five year old you do not really know what is going on. All you think is why are my parents poking me with needles and why can I eat the fruity colored sugary cereal anymore? You learn to adapt after time and how to live with the disease. Don?t get me wrong it is not easy in any way. There is so much you have to do and you have to watch what you eat. About eight or nine years ago I decided I wanted to do something to help cure myself. It was time for me to get involved on a bigger level. The Tour de Cure bike ride came up in my searches and I figured if I can drive a car for 30 miles I can ride a bike. What?s the difference? Well there is a huge difference. About 3 miles into it I realized that we were not going to make it. As a team we decided to switch to the 15 mile route. We did and about four plus hours later we arrived. When we arrived we were greeted by the tour coordinator and were congratulated and then told that everyone was looking for us because we didn?t check into the second check point on the 30 mile ride. It was then I realized how much people care about me, others with diabetes and the Tour de Cure itself! Do your part and ride with us! Can?t ride no problem! Get involved and volunteer your time! Help Make a Difference! |
