Goal for 2013
Last August I thought my bike riding days were over. I needed yet another knee surgery. This one was to replace the left knee. The pain was unbearable and finally in October I had the replacement done.
Prior to surgery I told myself that I needed something that would push me during recovery. So I registered to ride the 2013 Tour de Cure.
I may not ride the 25K this year, but I am going to ride. Surgery went great and the leg is getting better everyday.
Why I Ride
I began riding in the Tour de Cure in 2009 to help raise funds for Diabetes research. My husband Bob has had an awful time over the past couple years due to the disease. And my daughter is a diabetic as well. Bob has been dealing with infections in his feet for years. It's really hard to see him suffer like this.
If you know someone with diabetes you know what I mean.
On June 9th 2013 I will join hundreds of riders in Wells Maine for the Tour de Cure. I will be raising money for the research and hopefully they will find a cure before any other generation has to suffer from Diabetes.
I'm working hard to make my goal of riding and I need your help to reach my fundraising goal. It doesn't take a lot. Just a couple dollars from everyone adds up fast. I know times are tough, but I also know that my family and friends are tougher.
Thank you for all the support I've received over the past years. You are a great group of people and I really appreciate your help.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
