Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
|
It's that time again! LET'S GET READDDDDDY TOOOOO RIDE!!! After an amazing time riding and rocking the Tour with my close friends, how could I resist returning? All the while raising funds for the ADA, it's a win, win. So, let's do it, join me and together we can Stop Diabetes! Diabetes has been a big part of our families' lives. Over several generations it has affected numerous aunts and uncles, several grandparents, and both of my parents. My father struggled with type 1 and passed away in February, earlier this year, and on June 11 (day of 2011 Tour de Cure) my mother passed after struggling for 20+ years with type 2 diabetes. Both have endured numerous complications, and for the last several years my mother endured dialysis treatments three times a week as she struggled with failing kidneys. Their struggles have inspired me to take part in this event to benefit those living with diabetes. How you can help. No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of more than 23.6 million Americans who suffer from diabetes, in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Better yet- join me and my friends from YPOM for the tour and together, we can all make a difference! Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause, it is so important to me! The funds donated are used to continue studies understanding the disease, research for a cure, treatments and insulin/blood testing supplies for patients, awareness through school programs aimed at preventing childhood obesity- the number one cause of diabetes in children, and the opportunity for kids battling juvenile diabetes to attend summer camps-safely and medically supervised- yet fun, and structured to educate them how to properly care for, and manage life with diabetes |
