Fundraising Honor Roll

Please Consider Supporting Me in the 2012 Tour de Cure!

A special "Thank You" to those who have supported me in the past! Welcome to those of you who are first learning about what I do and wish to support me in this riding endeavor! The $1845 (2012) raised helped to support research  as well as to educate the public about this insidious disease. My web page is open/ready to accept financial support for 2013.

I have been a Type II diabetic for more than 15 years and a fund raiser for the American Diabetes Association since 1999 when I became a marathon runner for Team Diabetes. Since 2002 (first hip replacement) and most recently in 2009 (second hip replacement), I moved over to bicycling as a means of "burning off" excess sugar! It works!

Locally I ride many miles each spring/summer, both in training and during charity rides, including Tour de Cure. Over the years I have completed distances ranging from a few miles to more than 100 miles. Participating in the California Tour of the Alps - The Death Ride - (two days  of 112 miles (129 mile total trek)) climbing ~12,000 feet elevation was both tiring and exhilarating!   Frequently while riding in Nevada and California when visiting Juleanne (daughter) who lives in Reno, NV, I include biking to summits of several area passes. This year was my 9th year of riding the 72 mile distance around Lake Tahoe (4300+ feet elevation climb). These and other passes provide unforgettable scenic views!

As stated earlier, I will again be riding in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event in June 2013. Please support me with a donation by selecting the "Click Here to Sponsor Me" link. Collectively our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes.

Help Make a Difference!

Pedal power works!

Each mile I ride, and the funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of more than 25.6 million Americans who suffer from diabetes, in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Together, we can all make a difference!

Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause which is so important to me!
