Fundraising Honor Roll

The Tour de Cure is three months away. With the help of everyone last year, I was able to exceed my goal of $500 for the American Diabetes Association. This year I have doubled my goal to $1,000. And I can?t do it without the generous support of you guys.

Diabetes effects more than 25 million people in the U.S. You probably know a few of them, even if you don?t realize it. This fund raising event allows the ADA to do so much. From finding a cure, to publications aimed at educating people on how to best prevent diabetes, they can?t do it without our help.

I know everyone is strapped for cash these days, but truly every penny helps. I am personally asking everyone who sees this to consider donating whatever you can to this worth while cause. Even the change in your pocket helps, because no amount is too small.
Donations can be made in many ways: cash, check, credit, and debit. For those who can donate online, the minimum amount is $5.00 and can be made by clicking on the "Donate To Adam" link above. For those who wish to help and want to use a check, please make all checks payable to the American Diabetes Association. And for those who can help me reach my goal of $1,000 and can offer cash, please contact me directly and I will do whatever it takes to get to you.

I ride for my great grandfather, Robert J. Cote, who lived his life with diabetes. He was my role model. I also ride for one of my best friends, Patty, who has gone through so much these past two years fighting cancer and living with diabetes. She has been knocked down but never lets it bring her down. Patty, I don?t know how you do it, but you?re awesome! And I also ride for Poppy. For those of you who don?t know who that is, it?s my best friends grandfather, and I look at him like my own.

And lastly, I ride for myself. Though I do not have diabetes, I am overweight and have a greater risk of developing it because of my lack of exercise and poor diet. The Tour de Cure got me motivated last year to lose the weight. And this year it?s not going to be any different.

Spring training my be going on in Florida for the New York Yankees, but it?s happening here for me! Look out bike trails in the Capital District, here I come!

Thank you, in advance, for your support and encouragement! With your help, we can Stop Diabetes!

The starting and finish line last year. I was pumped to start, but dead when I finished. Let me tell you, there is nothing like crossing that finish line on my first run! I can't wait to do it again this year!!!
