Originally, I had just left the default text here from the American Diabetes Association, but I decided that it would be fitting to replace it with something that I wrote myself. So here it goes:

Diabetes sucks, and this is a good charity with the mission of finding a cure. The money that I raise from this ride will contribute to that mission, and hopefully bring us closer to a cure. Diabetes affects a lot of people, and I've learned that through just the first week of fundraising for the Tour de Cure. I have learned that people who I know (some of them for a long time) have diabetes. Others, I've learned, have loved ones with diabetes. 

So I'm riding for all of those who have been affected by diabetes, including the legendary Dan Canary who is sorely missed.
