Support Me in Tour de Cure!

This year I am serving as co-captain of Team Red Alabama and as the chair for the Alabama Tour de Cure.  I plan on riding a century in May to raise awareness about diabetes.  I will also be raising funds in conjunction with my training for a half ironman in June 2013.  Together we can fund education and research and find a cure for this disease.

Help Make a Difference in the fight against diabetes!

Each mile I ride, and the funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

My mom had diabetes.  She was diagnosed when I was in 8th or 9th grade and I recall how hard she worked to control this disease. Due to complications from the disease, she lost her leg below the knee.  This was devastating for her and for the rest of us. Several of my aunts and other relatives have also struggled with diabetes. I have seen what this disease can do and how it affects the person and everyone around them.

Your donation will help with programs in Alabama and Mississippi. where there is the highest rate of diabetes in the country. Education about care and prevention as well as advocacy will help reverse this trend.
