Support Me in the Tour de Cure!

I will be cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure
75 mile fund-raising event in Tulsa on June 1. Please support me with a donation by
selecting the "Click Here to Sponsor Me" link. Our efforts will help
fund critical programs of the American Diabetes Association. These
include research to prevent and cure diabetes, research to improve the
lives of those suffering from diabetes, and education and advocacy for
the same goals.

Help Make a Difference!

The funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure
diabetes and to improve the lives of the 26 million Americans affected by diabetes and 79 million American with pre-diabetes.

The past four years have demonstrated the deadly impact of diabetes. In June 2009 my 92 year old father (Type II) passed away, largely from old age and cancer, but the effects of diabetes contributed. In November 2009, my 46 year old brother-in-law (Type I) passed away due to the effects of diabetes. He left behind his 9 year old son who has Type I diabetes. Over the past year I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. The funds we raise will help improve the lives of all who suffer from diabetes and will help to find a cure for this deadly and debilitating disease. (Did you know that more people die from diabetes than from breast cancer and AIDS combined?)

No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of those who suffer from diabetes, in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Together, we can
all make a difference!

Many cultures have accomplished many things from ancient pyramids to today's internet. That means that we can...

Find a cure for diabetes and find ways to improve the lives of those living with this disease.

Undoubtedly you know someone with diabetes. Think about what they go through because of this disease:
* The mothers and fathers who have toÃ give their babies insulin shots or who see their children going into
seizures if their diabetes management isn't just right.
* Children being denied their medicine at school because they are diabetic.
* Adults being denied jobs because they are diabetic.
* People going blind, having increased risk of coronary problems or having to have amputations because of diabetes.

Don't they all deserve a better life? This is what the American Diabetes Association does...works to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of those with diabetes.
