I am not a full time do-gooder.  In fact, I am passionate about only one charitable cause.  That is to raise money for the ADA and Diabetic Patients across the nation. 

The 2013 Tour is slated for June 2.  That is the day our team (all candidates for psychiatric evaluation) will traverse the highways and byways of Kansas for the purpose of raising money to fight America's modern scourge. You may not realize it, but there are almost 25 million diabetic patients across the country; including someone close to you! 

My Dad is why I volunteer for the ADA.  In 1975, he was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.  He understood the disease, but did not fight back.  Fight back? My Dad loved high blood sugar; in the form of donuts, candy bars and ice cream.  My Dad's legacy was one of living for the moment.  And boy, did he string a bunch of great moments together!  Many of those were enjoyed on the annual Canadian Fishing Trip where fun, not fishing, ruled the day!  My Dad was a stickler for three squares a day; one of which was enjoyed during this shore lunch back in 1992.
