Why I Ride?
In August of 2007 I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.   My journey with this disease has been a successful one.   My health is excellent and I have not had any piece of my life detoured by this disease.   Much of the credit for this goes to the outstanding care I receive at the Barbara Davis Center.   But it also is the support of family and friends that has made what I have to do each day easier.   Unfortunately not all people with diabetes can say this.

The Tour de Cure raises money to support people who must struggle everyday to manage this disease. Last year, more than 50,000 cyclists in 80 Tour events raised nearly $17 million to support the mission of the ADA: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Each mile I ride, and the funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
