The important people in my life with Diabetes are the inspiration as to why I participate. My parents that raised me and my deceased biological mother had Diabetes. I also have a friend that is insulin dependent due to Diabetes. Although, my biological mother is no longer with us and would not benefit from a cure, she will always be in my heart and an inspiration to why I participate in the Tour de Cure annually. In a typical year, more than 75 cents of every dollar raised supports the mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The American Diabetes Association holds the Better Business Bureau?s (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance Seal for National Charities.
