The American Diabetes Association (ADA) continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). We are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other health authorities. We are being cautious, conservative and consistent because the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, sponsors, employees, partners and friends is our top priority.
With this in mind, we have decided to host the 2020 Tour de Cure: San Diego VIRTUALLY and will NOT hold the event at De Anza Cove on April 4.
We know that you were excited for our event, but don’t worry - there’s still an opportunity to help us meet our mission!
This New Interactive Virtual Tour de Cure offers you an opportunity to join us wherever you are to keep our mission moving by raising funds for lifesaving research, education and advocacy.
Tour de Cure® Game Plan:
- Let’s Ride, Run or Walk in our neighborhoods on April 4. Wear your Tour or Living Red gear to represent the ADA and complete your intended distance. Share on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram – do a live video, post pictures, and tag donors – let’s celebrate virtually! Use hashtag #VirtualTourdeCure2020
- Your Why Hasn’t Changed. The funds we raise are critically important to the people we serve. People with diabetes desperately need our help – we’re counting on your support of our mission and our efforts to work towards a cure. You may still earn recognition prizes and we will coordinate distribution in the coming weeks.
- Celebrate Your Journey. Share on Facebook when you’ve completed your Tour ride, run or walk and give a shout out to your supporters. Let us showcase your efforts and celebrate with you, use the hashtag #VirtualTourdeCure2020
We thank you for your patience and continued support as we pivot this event. We are a strong community, dedicated and passionate. We are Connected for Life!
Our Heartfelt Gratitude,
