Welcome to the 2014 Washington DC Tour de Cure!

Take a journey along the closed-off streets of Washington DC and see the monuments like you’ve never seen them before! Ride along a traffic-free Whitehurst Freeway, Arlington Memorial Bridge and along Constitution Avenue at the American Diabetes Association’s inaugural DC Tour de Cure! Ride 13, 33 or 50 miles in support of the diabetes cause with a fun-filled finish line celebration by the Capitol Building. 

The DC Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.

Packet Pickup

The fundraising minimum of $250 needs to be met in order to pick up your packet. There will be NO day of event Packet Pick-Up. All packet's must be picked up on one of the following dates. Packet pickup locations and times are as follows*: 

Monday, 9/22 – Revolution Cycles Rockville, 3pm-7pm 

Wednesday, 9/24 – Revolution Cycles DC, 3pm-7pm 

Friday, 9/26 – Revolution Cycles Clarendon, 3pm-7pm 

*Riders who wish to change their route may do this at packet pick-up.

Please fill out a copy of the Waiver (found here) and bring it with you to Packet Pick-Up.

Parking Day of Event

The event will NOT be metro-accessible. The metro opens at 7am on the weekends, which means you will miss your start time if you take the metro.

PLEASE leave extra time to arrive on Saturday because many streets will be closed. Arlington Memorial Bridge, Whitehurst Freeway, and Canal Road will all be closed on Saturday, September 27. Access to Freedom Plaza will be easiest coming from the north, as 14th Street will be closed from Independence to Constitution Avenue.

There will be available parking at the Reagan Building for $13. Please use the 14th St. Entrance.

There will also be parking available at One Parking for $5. Please make sure to mention that you are with ADA Tour de Cure in order to receive the $5 rate.

Remember: Only bring what you need— there will not be a bag drop. However, there will be a bike valet before and after ride.

This is the ONLY entirely closed route.

Be prepared to travel on safe open roads and in bike lanes.
