Welcome to Bill Guida's personal page
This year marks the 27th Anniversary of the Tour de Cure, and our 19th consecutive year riding in it -- 17 in the Milwaukee area event.
Last year, despite our late team entry, team Rim Riders proved small but mighty, raising enough money on behalf of the ADA to again rank among the top 10 family and friends fundraising teams.
A big THANK YOU to all our sponsors who generously donated to support us in the 2018 and other past annual Tour de Cure events.
Please, consider supporting us with your donations again for the 2019 TDC coming up in July for the Milwaukee area and in late October for our first time entering the New Orleans TDC under team captain Desiree Guida. Or, by all means, please, consider registering to ride or walk with us in either event.
I ride because it's one way to do something to help others looking forward to a possible cure for diabetes and the always improving self-management of the disease.
Other reasons I ride the Tour: I enjoy cycling. It's typically well organized and a good time. In addition, for those of us who are Red Riders, we get to meet others living with diabetes who are determined to meet its challenges and not let it rule our lives.
Again, thanks to all my sponsors -- many of whom have been with me from the beginning in 2001 -- for doing something about it, too, just by donating.
Thanks, too, to those of you who've pedaled or walked with us as Rim Riders. All of your support has meant the world to me.
Finally, a special thank you to our daughter, Desiree, for registering the team the past three years while I was dealing first with a total knee replacement and then cancer treatment. That allowed me to focus on riding and fundraising.
Again, I am grateful for all of your continued support and for believing together we can stop diabetes.
Most sincerely, in peace, strength and well being,
