Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
This is my 4th Year Riding in the Diabetes Tour de Cure!
I am riding because the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is so much more than a cycling event to me. I train each weekend and as much as possible during the week to prepare for this long distance ride that supports finding a cure for diabetes. Each dollar YOU GIVE will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
I am committed to ride this year and future years not only because 29 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because I personally know some of them, and I want to do something about it. As I mentioned last year, my mom, Juanita Evans Wood, died mainly due to Diabetes. In addition, several of my team members, friends, and children of my friends have diabetes. It can hit at any age. So, whether you volunteer, ride, or donate, consider getting involved in this great cause to "Find a Cure in Our Lifetime!"
Chances are, you also know someone who has been affected by diabetes and you already know how important it is to stop this disease. By making a donation on my behalf or by joining Team Portsmouth, you will be helping the American Diabetes Association provide community-based educational programs, enhance the lives of those with diabetes, and fund critical research for a cure.
No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of more than 29 million Americans who suffer from diabetes, in hopes that future generations can live in the world without this terrible disease. Together, WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
I truly appreciate your support. Together we can Stop Diabetes!
