Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
I will be cycling 62 miles in the American Diabetes Association's Northwest Arkansas Tour de Cure fundraising event. I will be riding as a Red Rider (riders with diabetes). This will be my 5th tour to ride in since being diagnosed with diabetes.
My grandmother that I love dearly passed away with complications of diabetes. My father and step father both live with diabetes and little did I know I would be diagnosed with diabetes.
In December of 2005, directly after the birth of my daughter I went to the doctor since I started having rapid weight loss for no apparent reason and was extremely exhausted. I was diagnosed with diabetes, which at the time I believed my life had ended. I realized it was just the start to a great life even living with diabetes.
Since being diagnosed, I try to maintain a good diet and exercise program. It’s not always easy, I am on track to being able to manage my diabetes with diet, but like many others I struggle with this daily and still have to have help maintaining my sugar levels with medicine.
If you would like to donate to the cause I would be grateful. If you are unable to donate then drop a line of encouragement! I truly appreciate your support. Together we can Stop Diabetes!
