Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
I'm back for another year riding in the Tour de Cure. I've been concerned that I would not be able to do it this year. After tearing my meniscus in my right knee and old age issues in my left, I've been doing PT for several months to try to get ready for the 10 mile ride! Every week I asked my therapist, "do you think I can do it?". At first she just smiled and looked concerned but by the end of a long three months she said, "yes, I think you can"! So here we are!
I'm riding again for Jane Teree Maloney but this year sadly I need to add a few names as diabetes continues to impact my friends and family. I have a cousin who is Type 2, our neighbors lost their daughter to Type 1 and now have a grandson recently diagnosed. A neighbor from Syracuse with Type 2 and my manager's young son with Type 1.
I am going to do my absolute best to make that 10 mile ride with my bad knees! Won't you please help me with a small donation? No donation is too small for this important cause. Great strides have been made since Jane was diagnosed years ago but there is still a long way to go. Jane will be riding with me in spirit and I know she'll help me go the distance if my knees aren't up for the challenge. You don't need to be on the bike with me to make this ride!
If you would like to ride with me, please let me know, I would be happy to have the company on the journey! The route is relatively flat and 10 miles is a reasonable distance so it should be pretty easy for even a casual rider to do.
Thank you for your continued support!
