So many of you donated to this event for 2018 that I am riding again in 2019
The weather was perfect last year! We fell short of our team goals and my individual goal, but I am confident we will rebound strong this year.
Three of us Textron Aviation Flyers (TAF) started the course together but broke up within a few miles. I wanted to start strong and stay with the pelaton that was breaking away, so I pushed forward. My first and only stop was at the second staged rest area just short of half way. At the time I felt good and planned on stopping once more but each time I came to a rest stop, I didn't feel the need to stop. I had plenty of water and energy to burn! This year they started timing us with chips. They did not publicly share the results since it was not considered a race, but most riders are like me and if you put a timing chip on me...it's a race! I finsihed 8th on the 100K route and set a PR. I plan on beating that time this year!
I'm once again taking the lead and being the captain of the Textron Aviation Flyers. Check us out on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1764874223830928/?ref=bookmarks
I look forward to riding in 2019 and sharing my story with you again
