Welcome to my Personal Page
This time it's really personal.
Last year I rode the TourDeCure because so many people in my family have diabetes or have died of it. And because of your generosity, I was among the top ten fund-raisers in all of Silicon Valley. Thank you so much.
On December 10th, 2016 I was diagnosed with diabetes. I had a fasting blood glucose level of 275 mg/dl (normal is under 100) and a HbA1c of 9.8. I was petrified.
In four months, a LOT has changed. I wanted to go all out before I went on insulin injections. My fasting blood glucose is now consistently under 90 mg/dl. I've lost 35 lbs and am smaller than when I was in college. I dropped my body fat by 21%. And by 6/11 -- when I ride the TourDeCure again -- I will have lost another 20 lbs.
On April 1st I did the Terra Bella ride for 56 km and shaved an entire hour off last year's time.
I am committing myself to TourDeCure again this year. And I want to aim for the 100km ride.
Last year I threatened to send you pictures of me in Lycra if you didn't donate. The threat still stands!
You really do save lives when you donate. Won't you please help? I appreciate your support and generosity.
