Welcome to my Personal Page
Type 1 Diabetes has been a constant for the majority of my life. I have been battling this chronic illness approaching 27 years to date. It has been, without a doubt a struggle, but a very manageable one due to the countless and continuous support of my family, friends and medical community. Coming to terms and accepting I had this illness was probably the most difficult hurdle for me. A hurdle, in hindsight, I wasted too much time with, as once I embraced it, my life would change for the better. It takes tremendous effort and attention to detail to manage and control this illness, and it is ever evolving, but with this management and control comes countless opportunities to live and experience life to its fullest.
I have been given this opportunity to ride and raise money in this inspirational event not because 29 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because I personally know some of them, and want to do something about it. You can too, just by donating. It would mean the world to me.
This year is even more special because coincidentally, it’s the 27th Anniversary of the Tour de Cure. No better time than now to support me in celebrating 27 years of continuous progress working to improve the lives of people with diabetes through research, advocacy and education.
