Return to Tour de Cure
On November 5, 2017, I lost my dear mother Lela Zak at age 89. She didn't have diabetes, thankfully, though she did bravely face many other health challenges. Both of my parents (my dad Frank Zak died in 2014) were physically active throughout their lives, and both generously donated their time to many community organizations. So I'm dedicating my 2018 Tour de Cure ride of 63 miles to my late parents.
Here is another reason I'm riding: 29.1 Million Americans Have Diabetes. The money raised for the Association funds critical diabetes research, information programs, and advocacy efforts that support the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, and the 86 million with pre-diabetes.
I hope you can help me fight diabetes by making a donation to the American Diabetes Association this June 10 as I return to ride my second Chicagoland Tour de Cure.
As I did last year, I will match every dollar you give with one of my own. My goal is $1000; please consider helping me reach it.
Thank you for your support for the Tour de Cure.
