Welcome to my Personal Page
Friends and Family,
At the end of July, I’ll be riding in the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure for the fourth time, to honor the memory of my late father Jim Freud, and raise money for diabetes research. My dad passed away at the age of 60, after a long battle fighting the complications of living with type 1 diabetes for decades.
My Dad was an active member of his community, volunteering to lead boy scouts, teach Sunday school, and coach baseball. He made everyone around him feel respected and valued. He enjoyed a great cup of coffee, a round of golf with friends, and being with family. His priority was to be the best father he could be.
This year, I’ve been asked to be the team captain for “Team Red.” I know it is in large part thanks to all the generous fundraising support of everyone in the past. To date, we raised over $5000 the past 3 years for diabetes research. This year, I’m hoping to raise $2000 more.
I miss my Dad every day, but I know he’s had an impact on so many people, and made their lives a little better. Every day I find myself accidentally repeating something he told me as a kid, and it makes me smile. I ride in the Tour de Cure in the hopes that someday no one will have to suffer from this disease like he did. I also ride to simply remember what a wonderful person Jim Freud was. Thank you for your support!
