Tim Gossett's Support Page
LEADING BY EXAMPLE. UNITED BY A CAUSE.
In 2015, shortly before Christmas, my neice Evie was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. It came as a shock to everyone in the family, since she was young, healthy and had a good diet. Evie is doing GREAT now - she rode this ride the past 3 years, was a spokesperson for a previous ride, and has been very proactive in talking with people about diabetes.
This year, nearly my entire family will ride together in support of Evie...and all the people we know who live with diabetes daily. Finn, Kathry and and I will be riding, and our hope is to do something he's never done before: ride 35 miles on his own! It should be a fun challenge!
Participating as a family started with just one decision and one intention. We decided to make a different in Evie's life and the lives of others. We registered to participate in the Tour de Cure and are now raising money to prevent diabetes, to fight the consequences and to improve the lives of all of those affected. We want to find a cure...and we believe it will happen soon.
Our ride is just a few short days away, and we really need your help to reach and surpass our goal. So many people are affected by diabetes and I want to do something about this disease. You can too, just by donating whatever you can to the American Diabetes Association on my behalf (or on behalf of Kathryn or Finn if you would rather.) It would mean SO much to me.
Every donation makes such a big difference. The money we raise for the Association funds critical diabetes research, information programs, and advocacy efforts that support the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, and the 86 million with pre-diabetes.
I am forever grateful for all of those willing to help and thank you for supporting me!
