Welcome to Dani's Page!
SO MANY LIVES ARE TOUCHED BY DIABETES. CHANCES ARE YOUR LIFE IS TOO.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 11 on April Fool's Day--let's just say it was quite a way to end Spring Break that year. Over the past 20 years, I've been so incredibly blessed to have a supportive network of family, friends, teachers, school administrators, and health care professionals that have made it possible for me to thrive through the many challenges and triumphs that come with managing my diabetes. Until recently, I didn't realize just how unique that makes me.
As part of the communications team at the American Diabetes Association, I find myself overwhelmed by the many ways this organization supports people living with diabetes--from dedicated research and lifestyle management programs to legal advocacy work that fights discrimination at every turn.
This will be my first-ever long-distance bike ride (eek!), but I believe so deeply in this cause and I wanted to use my 20th dia-versary to challenge myself. I hope you'll support me and, more importantly, the Association's work so we can do even more for the 30 million people living with diabetes in our country. Whether you give $1 or $100, your gift makes a difference and gets us one step closer to ending this epidemic.
Thank you for your support!
