Welcome to my Jennifer's Page
LEADING BY EXAMPLE. UNITED BY A CAUSE.
Last year I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. My goal was to knock down my blood sugars by diet and exercise alone. However, 2 months after being diagnosed I had some medical issues where a doctor insisted they were caused by diabetes. So I started to take Metformin. I had a lot of questions. I had no definite answers. What worked for others and was suggested to be the best things diet wise didn't work for me. I felt worse. I was frustrated. I decided that I would get heathy and stay healthy. I would exercise and work to lower my weight and my blood sugar. I was taking this seriously as I have watched many family members and friends deal with complications from diabetes. I'm running/riding for not only myself but for them. A year later and I have stable blood sugars!
I registered to participate in the Tour de Cure and I am now raising money to prevent diabetes, to fight the consequences and to improve the lives of all of those affected. I want to find a cure.
So many people are affected by diabetes. I want to do something about this disease. You can too, just by donating to the American Diabetes Association on my behalf. It would mean so much to me.
Every donation makes such a big difference. The money we raise for the Association funds critical diabetes research, information programs, and advocacy efforts that support the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, and the 86 million with pre-diabetes.
I am forever grateful for all of those willing to help and thank you for supporting me!
