Katherine Lee Rides Again to Cure Diabetes
Welcome to my 2018 fundraising page!
This will be the 9th year of my support for the Houston Tour De Cure event. I rode in the inaugural event in 2009 and have tried to ride every year. That was not always possible; now that I am retired, I am back in the saddle. . .literally!
I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® because I live and ride with diabetes.
The good news is that my diabetes is under control. I joined the Tour de Cure because my children are at risk of becoming diabetics. I joined because so many people don't even know they already are diabetics. I ride because the price on medications are so high that some diabetics face difficult choices. I ride with hope that one day there will be a cure and I can ride purely for the enjoyment of it.
The sad news is that when I first rode in 2009, there were only 23 million adults and children with the disease. Today, more than 30 million people are living with diabetes. While research continues, there is so much more to be done.
Help Me Reach My Goal!
When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
Let's do whatever it takes to reverse the last 9 year trend which was 30 million people live with diabetes. Donate to drive that number back to zero!
Thank you for your support,
