Welcome to my Personal Page
What a Great Event! The Tour de Cure raises funds annually for the ADA, which does so much for those living with type 1 diabetes, and who is also working diligently to find a cure for this disease. Joni and I are excited for the 2019 event as we, along with Kelsey and Jared, are forming our own team this year......TEAM 970! With the new team, we are looking for teammates and support, so we need YOU!!! We have hopes that our new team will be successful in both fund raising for this great organization, as well for enjoying each other and the event. We hope you will support diabetics in the US and the ADA.
As for the Tour de Cure and the ADA, we really didn't know much about either, or type 1 diabetes for that matter, until just over ten years ago. You see, it was then that our daughter, Kelsey, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Kelsey had just graduated from high school, was a busy, active, healthy, physically fit young lady who was getting ready to go off to her first year of college. What a shock it was for Kelsey, and for us, who had never experienced type 1 diabetes, to be told that her life needed to change to manage this disease. We want to be a part of improving that day to day management... to help with programs benefiting diabetics and to help find a cure.
The Tour de Cure is a fund raising event for the ADA which takes place all over the US each year. The Colorado event, a run/walk/ride, is held in September in the south Denver area. Team members get pledges for their participation, go out and run/walk/ride, enjoy the support of others, enjoy great food and have the chance to be a part of the community supporting diabetics across the country.
Joni and I are asking you to join our team and/or support us in the 2019 Tour de Cure through a tax deductible donation, because finding a cure for diabetes, and supporting the ADA's programs to help those living with type 1 diabetes, is crucial to millions of people in the US.
If you want to join our team, just click that box above, or if you can help with a tax deductible donation, you can do that above as well. Either way, a big THANK YOU in advance...we appreciate your support of TEAM 970!!!
