Welcome to my Personal Page
Welcome to my fundraising page!
This will be my second year riding in the Tour de Cure. Here are three reasons why I ride.
My Family – My dad died in 2006 due to complications from living with Type 1 diabetes and my paternal grandmother is still living with Type 1.
My Health – I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1996. Riding helps keep my blood sugars under control.
The Future – I teach in a district with a little over 13,500 students, 33 of these students are living with Type 1. I would love for these students and others who have yet been diagnosed to have the best possible future for diabetes management and eventually a cure.
I'll be riding 63 miles as a "Red Rider", wearing a special jersey for those who are riding the Tour de Cure with diabetes. The idea of the Red Rider program is to show that the disease does not have to have life-altering consequences. With proper care and management, it's possible to ride, and compete, at a high level.
Every donation makes such a big difference. The money we raise for the Association funds critical diabetes research, information programs, and advocacy efforts that support the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, and the 86 million with pre-diabetes.
I am forever grateful for all of those willing to help and thank you for supporting me!
I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® because finding a cure for diabetes means so much to me.
