Welcome Jim Lynn's fundraising page.
Welcome to my fundraising page!
What a 2020 year this has been!
Challenge coming...Since this year its virtual and no set distance, im going to try a new approch.
American Diabetes Association needs all the supprt we can give them, there are 34 million americans living with diabetes. The ADA has many different programs to support them along with all the research.
When I found out all the TdC rides went virtual I was kinda bummed. Partly because Ive been putting in pretty decent training miles, partly because wont get to see our Kentucky friends, partly figured it would be harder to fundraise, Party because well it would just be an excuse not to try!!
Not try is just what I was doing, my riding decreased, and lost interest, then while driving home from Dallas yesterday got to thinking, Dam it, folks struggling with Diabetes cant just quit trying, so why am I, yes feeling guilty?
I got an email from the Cincinnati TdC that day requesting me to join, what a coincidence, fact is, over the last couple months got a few from Cincinnati and St Louis to join, since Kentucky wasn't hosting one, and I ignored them. Today I looked and Cincinnati's is 3 Oct. That looked like a good date to I signed up, Obviously here I type.
On 3 Oct I won’t be riding with a group, or riding with my great friend Rob, or take a great adventurous road trip to Kentucky, but I will be riding alone to support all with Diabetes, and for all that support me in this fundraising effort!!
Please help me in this fundraising effort, all donation amounts accepted.
A little competition\challenge is healthy, so here it is who ever donates the most or if can figure how to track it, the person that donates or helps solicit the most donations, can pick the distance I ride! Remember I am a “well fed” 52 year old man. haha My longest ride this year is 52 miles and my longest ride ever is 65 miles. That being said I will ride the distance selected up to 100 miles in a day, if a larger distance is selected will have to be a multiple day ride.
There it is accept the challenge if you dare!
Keep an eye on the donation page to keep track if you are still in the lead, if you lose the lead and want to be the one that sets my riding distance you will need to make another donation.
Please if not wanting to be part of the challenge, donate any amount you wish, it will be much appreciated!
There is only 38 days till 3 Oct, this will be a short timeline on fundraising.
Please pass this along to family, friends, coworkers and post on your social media, have a blast!
Thank you for your time,
JimI am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure® because finding a cure for diabetes means so much to me.
I joined the Tour de Cure because today alone over 4,100 people will be diagnosed and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this terrible disease.
Help Me Reach My Goal! When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me and raise money.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to me.
