100 Miles Gained for Each Step Towards Medical Remission
On July 12th, 2018, after many years of not feeling right, I was diagnosed with Type-II Diabetes. With significant lifestyle changes - a holistic approach of meds, diet, and exercise - I've lost 100 lbs in a year and am working towards medical remission.
Thirty million American adults and children currently have diabetes - that's outpacing heart disease, cancer, and AIDS. At that pace, 1 in 3 children born in 2050 will develop diabetes in their lifetime. To help stop this march, I am riding in the Garden State Tour de Cure sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. Every dollar goes to research, education and advocacy efforts.
It's a 100-mile ride - the longest I have attempted thus far. 100 miles gained for 100 lbs lost. Help me help others beat this deadly disease.
I joined the Tour de Cure because today alone over 4,100 people will be diagnosed and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this terrible disease.
Help Me Reach My Goal!
When you donate:
* You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
* You advocate for a child discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
* You fund life-saving research.
* You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me and raise money.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to me.
