Welcome to my Personal Page
Welcome to my fundraising page!
My name is Andrew Wang and I'm currently a freshman at the University of Albany. I'll be running a 10 mile marathon for this event in Albany because I want to raise awareness and support a good cause. My family has a history of both prediabetes and diabetes, so I have firsthand experience of what they go through and their routine. In high school, my first published paper called "Comparison of Sensitivity of HbA1c with Fasting Blood Glucose for diagnosing prediabetes in Chinese Americans" has made me realize that this is an epidemic for all ethnicities. At a recent research conference in my school, I did a presentation on the "Comparison of Prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease in Chinese Americans with prediabetes," which was a really great experience for me, however, it made me realize that both prediabetes/diabetes can have serious complications such as heart attack, kidney failure, etc. We need to do everything and anything in our power to reduce the risks of having prediabetes/diabetes.
I am asking you to support me with a donation in the Tour de Cure® because we can help prevent and hopefully cure prediabetes/diabetes. Together, we can all make a difference!!!
I joined the Tour de Cure because today alone over 4,100 people will be diagnosed and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this terrible disease.
Help Me Reach My Goal!
When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the devastating effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child discriminated against in school because of diabetes.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes
By participating in the Tour de Cure, I hope to inspire others to join me and raise money.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause that is so important to the well being of our community.
