2021 is my second year participating in the Tour de Cure, and I've set a personal goal of biking (or running) 50 miles per month from March through October, plus an extra 50 miles on the event day Sunday, October 10, 2021. This makes for a total of 450 miles, which is double the miles I logged last year. You're welcome to follow my progress via my Strava page here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/64254691
I am asking you to support me in the Tour de Cure because I care about raising awareness for diabetes and funding research that will lessen the harm it does on lives and communities. Please consider contributing a penny, nickel, or dime for each mile in my 2021 goal, which comes out to $4.50, $22.50, or $45.
Today alone over 4,100 people will be diagnosed with diabetes and because more than 30 million adults and children in the United States are living with this disease. At Amyris, I've contributed to the deveopment of Purecane, a zero-carolie natural sweetner made from sugarcane, which I'm gratified may make a difference for people who wish to prevent or manage diabetes. This fundraising bikeride is an opportunity to strengthen our efforts to overcome the damaging effects of this disease.
When you donate:
- You spread awareness of the effects of diabetes.
- You advocate for a child with diabetes to have the same learning opportunities at school.
- You fund life-saving research.
- You provide access to community programs and free resources that help those living with diabetes.
Thank you for making a generous donation to this cause and supporting me in this audatious biking challenge!
