2019 - My 23rd Rochester Tour...
2020 will by the 23rd Rochester Tour de Cure for me and your team, the Wheezers & Geezers. Sponsors of my 2019 Tour generated an astounding $15,124 for the benefit of the American Diabetes Association. All of this goes to the ADA’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all those affected by the diabetes. I am truly honored to have this fantastic support of sponsors.
Diabetes is the healthcare crisis of our time. The ADA estimates there are more than 100 million Americans impacted by diabetes, whether Type I, Type II, or pre-diabetes. This latter category - those who are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease within a decade - continues to grow. Many are not even aware of their condition or of their risks, so I encourage everyone to take the ADA's risk test for themselves. You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/pp9cswj
The ADA leads the battle against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fights for those affected by diabetes by funding research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes, and provides advocacy to those denied their rights because of diabetes. (For example, check out: http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/parents-and-kids/diabetes-care-at-school/)
ADA-funded research is making progress toward a cure. Please continue those efforts with a donation by selecting the "Click Here to Sponsor Me" button. You will be funding research for a cure that will help save lives, perhaps that of someone you love!
Again this year my personal pledge is to match each donation received of $25 or more with an additional $23 to the American Diabetes Association. $50 or more gets you a one-of-a kind Wheezers & Geezers team koozie!! I set my initial personal 2020 goal at $16,000 to build on last year’s amazing result, raised it to $18,000 when the $16K was reached, but now I'm increasing the $18K to $19,001!! Every dollar helps to fund for research into the cure and prevention of diabetes, and to provide support to all the millions of people affected by diabetes.
Future generations CAN live in a world without this disease. Together, we can achieve this goal. Thank you for your commitment and support.
