Support Doug Papciak as he raises money and awareness in the battle against diabetes.
Just about 3 years ago, my dad, Dennis Papciak, died of complications from diabetes. Now, diabetes has claimed the life of my father's cousin, Victor, who was one of dad's closest friends. Diabetes does not respect social distancing or take a break. It just keeps destroying lives.
The Atlanta Tour de Cure has gone "virtual" this year to protect riders, volunteers, and support teams from the Corona Virus. I was thinking of not raising money for the fight against diabetes this year as there are so many people sick, out of work, and suffering because of either the Corona Virus or the social injustices in this country.
Diabetes doesn't pause and neither should we in our fight against it. Just in the last year I have seen people struggling with the disease with blood sugar levels ranging from 23 to 1,211. More shocking are the people walking around with blood sugar levels of 300 to 600 because they are either not regularly testing their blood sugar or cannot afford their medications.
God bless you Victor Hajduk and your family and everyone that struggles with this terrible disease everyday. Please be safe and healthy.
THANK YOU for your time and your generosity!!!
