Welcome to Jim's page
In 2007, as a challenge to myself, I rode 100 miles in my first Tour de Cure. At that time I had no real commitment to diabetes awareness, prevention, support and research. Things have changed since then. Now I know of family members who are diabetic. Now I know of many, many friends who are also diabetic. I have seen the devastation that this disease can cause to those I love and to their families. Now I ride for them.
Last year I again volunteered to ride in the Tour de Cure. The event I participated, the Manning & Napier Tour de Cure held in Rochester NY, was the premier fund-raising event in the country, with over 2,000 participants raising over $1,000,000. I was filled with gratitude and joy as I thought both of those who would benefit from my participation and of those who donated so generously to help me reach my goal.
Won't you consider helping me to find a cure for this disease? Every donation, no matter its size, will help. By donating to the American Diabetes Association, we can jointly improve the lives of the nearly 30 million children and adults in the U.S. with diabetes, as well as the 86 million others with pre-diabetes.
